During this two-day activation workshop, we will cover a host of techniques necessary to create stunning portraits in pastel. We will practice lighting and posing the model together, learn how to design the portrait through thumbnail sketching. Then we’ll learn how to develop lifelike skin tones in pastel, and apply the painterly approach to portraiture. Finally, we will discuss techniques and approaches for refining the portrait. Alain understands that portraits can be intimidating, and creates a relaxed yet focused and encouraging learning environment for all involved.
